Following the Government’s Ministerial Statement on 13th May, directing local authorities to permit longer construction working hours, we anticipate many companies may wish to operate their sites for longer each day.
An increase in working hours until 9pm or longer will help with the feasibility of social distancing on site, whilst allowing contractors to meet project timescales. Extended working hours are expected to be permitted for a number of months.
However, provision for longer operating hours has the potential to cause friction with nearby residents impacted by noise and vibration during the evening and night.
If you have concerns regarding the potential noise and vibration problems for extended working at your site, or you have new noise and vibration requirements to allow your extended working, we can help you assess the risk, design control strategies and undertake on-site monitoring throughout the construction process.
At Dragonfly Consulting, our extensive experience in construction noise and vibration monitoring means we have the expertise and the equipment to respond quickly to the needs of your project.
